Risk Assessment and Management

Important: To reduce risks to drivers and pedestrians, as a condition of lease, all drivers must be supervised by an adult. Our staff responsibility is to inform customers about all potential risks prior to the hire.

Possible risk for supervising parents, pedestrians and observers -

Risk Description: Collision with a driving toy car.

Risk Analysis: The speed of the vehicles is limited to maximum of 6.5km/h. Therefore the impact of a collision is very small and unable to injure an adult. The impact with a child younger than 5 years old can cause a fall and fall related injuries.

Risk Management: Drivers and supervising adults MUST exercise caution around pedestrians and give them way.

Possible risks for young drivers and passengers -

Risk Description: Toy cars collisions.

Risk Analysis: Considering the speed of toys, their design and quality of build, any collision will not be able to cause injuries to the drivers who are wearing a seat belt. Drivers younger than 3 years old, which are not wearing a seat belt, in case of head on collisions may suffer some minor bruising.

Risk Management:
1. Drivers and their passengers must wear seat belts for the whole period of the hire.
2. Our intention is to contribute to the child’s development by building new skills and gaining awareness of driving and road safety concepts. Offensive driving and intentional crashes will not be tolerated. One of the conditions for the toy car hire is to practice safe driving skills. If the driver and supervising adults demonstrate dangerous driving (with the potential to injure others and to damage vehicles) and ignore staff warnings, the rental hire will be terminated.

Risk Analysis: In order for the toy to roll over one side of the car must be at least 30 degrees higher than another; or the car must fall from a height of more than 30 cm (side fall) or more than 60 cm (front/ back fall). If the model of the car does not have a safety cage, the driver and passenger can suffer serious injuries.

Risk Management:Drivers and supervising adults MUST exercise caution around stairs, slopes and man holes.

Risk Description: Accidents involving motor vehicles.

Risk Analysis: The risk of a toy car driver being involved in transport accident is the same as for any other pedestrian.

Risk Management:Drivers and supervising adults MUST exercise caution around transport routes and roads.

Risk Description: Driver/ passenger getting hurt by surrounding items.
